The Access “Last-Dollar” Scholarship
To bridge the gap between the total amount of financial aid for which a family qualifies and the final cost of attending college, Access College Foundation awards “Last-Dollar” Scholarships to qualified high school seniors. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years.
Since 1988, the foundation has awarded $14 million in Access “Last-Dollar” Scholarships to students.

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.
Lester L. Cherry Scholarship
For a graduating Portsmouth public high school senior with at least a 3.0 grade point average who intends to declare his/her major in healthcare or medical research, to include but not limited to pre-med, biology, chemistry, nursing (R.N.), pharmacy, or nuclear medicine.

Students should have completed a minimum of 20 hours of community service, submit a letter of recommendation (from an educator, employer, or other non-family member), and submit an essay detailing your Horizons Hampton Roads experience and commitment to community service.
