Scholarship

The Access “Last-Dollar” Scholarship

To bridge the gap between the total amount of financial aid for which a family qualifies and the final cost of attending college, Access College Foundation awards “Last-Dollar” Scholarships to qualified high school seniors. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years.

Since 1988, the foundation has awarded $14 million in Access “Last-Dollar” Scholarships to students.

For a graduating senior of Deep Creek High School located in Chesapeake, Virginia and Granby High School located in
Norfolk, Virginia

Access 20th Anniversary Scholarship

For two (2) graduating seniors of any Chesapeake or Suffolk public high schools.

Access Beating the Odds Scholarship

For a graduating seniors of a South Hampton Roads high school or of Northampton County High School attending a college or university full-time. *Please attach cover sheet and required essay.

Access Educational Challenge Fund Scholarship

For a graduating senior of any of the (11) Virginia Beach public high schools.

The Antech Systems, Inc. Milburn Michael Anderson Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school pursuing a degree in computer science, technology, or communications.

Linda and Leigh Baltuch Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.

Carolyn and Richard Barry Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.

Batten Educational Achievement Fund

For a graduating senior of Northampton High School.

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school or of Northampton County attending Longwood University, Old Dominion University, Randolph-Macon College, or Virginia Wesleyan University.

KW Brown Ministries Access Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.

Cars for College Scholarship

For a graduating senior with a 2.3 GPA enrolling in an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program in Automotive Technology at Tidewater Community College. Must have a valid license and a clean driving record. Select a brand that you would be interested in servicing if selected to receive this scholarship: FCA, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Other

Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.

Lester L. Cherry Scholarship

For a graduating Portsmouth public high school senior with at least a 3.0 grade point average who intends to declare his/her major in healthcare or medical research, to include but not limited to pre-med, biology, chemistry, nursing (R.N.), pharmacy, or nuclear medicine.

Community Action Coalition of Virginia (CACOV)

For a graduating senior of any Suffolk public high schools.

Compton Family Foundation Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.

Merle K. and William Copeland Jr. Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high School.

Cox Communications Virginia Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school attending a college/university to study technology.

LaVerne Crown Scholarship

For a graduating senior of any of the (11) Virginia Beach public high schools majoring in the arts – practical, performing, music, or writing. *Please attach cover sheet and required essay.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Beta Upsilon Chapter

For a graduating female senior of a Norfolk public high school attending a college or university to study education.

Downtown 100 Scholarship

For a graduating Norfolk public high school senior with at least a 3.0 grade point average planning to attend a trade school, college or university.

Jay C. Ellis Memorial Access Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school or Northampton County with a preference given to a child of a current member of the VA-DC Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Shirley T. Gibson Access Scholarship

For a minority female graduating from Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia attending either Norfolk State University or Old Dominion University.

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.

Granby High School Alumni Association Scholarship

For a graduating senior of Granby High School located in Norfolk, VA.

For a graduating high school senior of South Hampton Roads attending a four-year college and interested in pursuing a career in Dental Hygiene.

Hampton Roads Community Foundation Scholarship

For a graduating senior of a South Hampton Roads public high school.

Horizons Hampton Roads Scholarship

For a graduating senior of South Hampton Roads that participated in the Horizons program for at least two (2) summers or semesters. Students should have completed a minimum of 20 hours of community service, submit a letter of recommendation (from an educator, employer, or other non-family member), and submit an essay detailing your Horizons Hampton Roads experience and commitment to community service.
