Access launched its College Commitment Day event when the national movement began in 2016! Today Access College Commitment Day is a highly anticipated community event.

This high-energy, school-spirited celebration for high school seniors is an unforgettable tribute to their educational achievements, commemorating an exciting time in their lives–college acceptance and the filing of their FAFSA form to gain the funds needed to enroll in college!

2027 College Commitment Day

Thank you for helping make 2026 College Commitment Day such a memorable celebration! Access College Foundation was proud to welcome global music icon and Virginia Beach native Timbaland as part of this year’s event, where more than 2,000 high school seniors from across Hampton Roads came together to celebrate their college acceptances, scholarship awards, and bright futures ahead.

Now, we’re looking ahead to the next big celebration on Tuesday, April 27, 2027.

In 2027, Access College Foundation will once again host College Commitment Day—a high-energy, school-spirited event honoring high school seniors from across South Hampton Roads and Northampton County as they celebrate one of life’s most exciting milestones: taking the next step toward college.

College Commitment Day is an unforgettable tribute to students’ hard work and achievement, recognizing their college acceptances and the completion of the financial aid process that helps make higher education possible. From the excitement of school pride to the joy of celebrating alongside classmates, educators, families, and community partners, this event shines a spotlight on the promise and potential of our region’s future leaders.

Following the incredible momentum of 2026, including Timbaland’s special appearance and inspiring conversation with Access President & CEO Damon Jiggetts, we are excited to build on that energy in 2027 with another memorable celebration for students across the region.
