Describe yourself in three words: Inquisitive, Competitive, Passionate

How did you first get involved with ACCESS? When I moved back to the Hampton Roads area I wanted to work for an organization that would engage my head and my heart. As a first-generation college student I knew immediately that I could find purpose in my work every day at ACCESS.

What is your most memorable/rewarding moment working with ACCESS? The students that our ACCESS Advisors assist have the most remarkable stories to tell that will stick with you forever. Every opportunity I have to connect the community and our supporters with something greater than themselves though a student’s story is incredibly rewarding.

What is the most important piece of advice you would give to a college-bound student? Get to know your professors! They are key players in your college success. You might need them for tutoring help, and you will definitely need them for job connections after graduation. Don’t be afraid to take advantage of their office hours. It gives you a great opportunity to discuss classroom matters and allows them to learn more about you: your academic interests, any challenges you may be facing, and even your future career plans.
